Power Napping: Restoring energy the simplest way

Often times, we might find ourselves caught in the middle of a busy day, that we hardly have gone through the morning agenda, and our body has become tired and weary. We realize that we lack the energy and the vigor to get us through the rest of the day. Hence, what better ways to rejuvenate our body during the daytime than with a power nap? A short and brief siesta in the middle of the day that permits our body as well as our brain to have that mandatory rest period.
Power napping, to restore our energy can be achieved in many ways. Here are some simple suggestions to make the most of your forty-winks:
- Sleep at least for 15 minutes. Ideally, the 15 minute time period allows you to have a light sleep and revitalizes your senses upon waking up;
- Have an alarm clock. This should be your constant companion while taking your power nap. It is suggested that the most you can allow yourself to have for a power nap is 30 minutes. Anything more than that may make you feel groggy and disoriented, thus placing you in a bad mood.
- Fresh air invigorates the body. Always check that your room has the adequate airflow to ensure a cool, not cold environment while taking your short nap;
- Get rid of all interruptions. Anything from mobile phones, pagers, telephone, and computers must be switch to prevent any disturbance of sleep;
- Splash some cold water. Upon awakening from that catnap, splatter some water on your face to refresh and pep up your energy level;
- Clear your head. Focus on removing all negative thoughts from your mind. Instead focus on positive scenarios and images to keep you relax in order to doze off easily.
